The Las Vegas Strip

One of the world’s most renowned avenues isn’t in Italy or Los Angeles or Paris, although a small part of all three can be found here. Its vivid lights and round-the-clock action play host to millions upon millions of visitors from across the globe every year, and even in photographs, it is instantly recognizable. It is known and celebrated for its heady brilliance, its dazzling spectacle of lights, shocking neon and dancing fountains. And it is as much a part of Las Vegas as its ringing slots and leggy showgirls. Yes, it’s the one and only Las Vegas Strip, right here in southern Nevada.

The Strip runs roughly four miles down Las Vegas Boulevard and is home to an incredible assortment of restaurants, clubs, shopping centers and of course, fabulous resorts that incorporate everything from an enormous pyramid and the New York skyline to a colossal circus tent and even the famous Eiffel Tower of Paris. Nearly all of Las Vegas’ famous megaresorts are anchored on the Strip, which is also designated as an National Scenic Byway. The magnificent Luxor, the famed New York New York, Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace, Bellagio and many more fabulous and famous casinos line this broad avenue. And that makes a stroll down the sparkling boulevard an experience that cannot be had anywhere else. Each lavishly decorated and themed resort is a ticket to an entirely new realm. Visitors can move from an Italian village on the water to a bustling sidewalk café in Paris to a medieval castle and more. Along the way, motorists and strollers alike are dazzled by volcanoes, tropical gardens, even looting pirates. And that’s not the half of it. The Las Vegas Strip is really a spectacle beyond describing, and certainly the only byway in the entire state that’s best by night. So whether they explore on foot or on wheels, it’s no surprise that this one-of-a-kind destination draws visitors from around the world.
